Heilbronn, Germany – DP31™ lead-free, metal-polymer bearings from GGB (formerly Glacier Garlock Bearings) are designed for use primarily in lubricated applications, such as pumps, motors, shock absorbers, struts, valves and solenoids.
The DP31 material structure features a rigid steel backing to which is bonded a porous bronze sinter interlayer impregnated and overlaid with a filled PTFE bearing layer, which has been specifically formulated to provide exceptional resistance to cavitation erosion and chemical attack by aggressive lubricants. The material also offers good boundary lubricated wear resistance, fatigue strength and low friction.
Moreover, the absence of lead in the formulation complies with the European Parliament’s End of Life Vehicles directive (ref: 2000/53/EC) on elimination of hazardous materials in the construction of passenger cars and light trucks. DP31 is available as cylindrical and flanged bushes, thrust washers, flanged washers, strip and custom parts.
