Total oxygen content of bearing steel from Shaoguan Iron & Steel decreased to 6.04ppm

Baosteel Group Guangdong Shaoguan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd recently announced that the total oxygen content of its bearing steel had been decreased to an average of 6.04ppm from the averaged 8ppm in last year, with the lowest record of 4.1ppm. Total oxygen content is an essential measure of the performance of bearing steel. The content of oxide inclusions decreases as the content of oxygen decreases, which can extend the fatigue life and service life of bearing steel. Currently, Shaoguan Iron & Steel has completed the production of 6 times of casting "5 furnace continuous casting", with the quality of molten steel and refractories able to satisfy the production requirements.
