Composite EF® is a newly designed water lubricated propeller shaft bearing offering all the benefits of the proven long lasting Composite bearing now with the ease of installation of a bronze-backed rubber bearing. Composite EF® is supplied in a single 3:1 L/D length with finished inside diameter to standard shaft sizes from 152mm to 305mm (6” to 12”) and overbuild on the outside diameter to accommodate variations in housing sizes. One-seventh the weight of metallic bearings, two persons can easily handle and fit the largest Composite EF® size eliminating the need for heavy rigging. Specially formulated to provide superior wear life in very abrasive water conditions such as inland river systems, Thordon Composite EF® bearings operating in combination with hard coated nickel-chrome-boron sleeves routinely outwear rubber propeller shaft bearings by a factor of two or more.
