The latest products to be offered in the smaller, standardised sizes include switch-mode power supplies, DIN-rail terminal blocks, I/O relay terminals, and liquid leakage sensor amplifiers. They are said to make control panel customisation quicker and easier, while the use of Omron’s Push-In Plus wiring technology promises faster wiring, reliable connections and good vibration resistance.
Omron says that previous FA devices built on the common platform have been adopted by more than 7,000 companies around the world.
Because the component heights vary, depending on factors such as power and heat dissipation, the new in-panel products are categorised into three groups, each with their own row in control panels: I/O; control; and power. Within each category, optimised design rules reduce dead space and optimise the width between wiring ducts.
The new products include:
• The XW5T DIN-rail terminal blocks with Push-in Plus technology, which have been doubled in number from 18 to 36 models. They include 5.2mm-wide blocks with rated currents up to 24A, and 6.2mm-wide blocks up to 32A. There are also 1:2 (internal wiring) and 2:2 types (for branching), and space-saving two-tier types.
G70V relay terminals with Push-in Plus technology and internally connected I/O terminals for improved wiring efficiency. There are input models with 16 points, and output models with four points X 4, designed for flexibility and rapid wiring.
• a space-saving 30W switch-mode power supply, completing the S8VK-S series, which already includes 60, 120, 240 and 480W models,
• the K7L-AT50DPB/-UDPB PNP-type liquid leakage sensor amplifiers with self-diagnostic system that detects disconnection of sensing bands as well as liquid leakage by a PNP output signal.
