Latest system specially designed for removal of oversize material to be shown at RWM 2017 EXHIBITING at RWM for the 15th consecutive time this year, Firstgrade will be using the show as a UK launch pad for their new disc screen, which has been designed for the removal of oversize materials (typically >100mm), from a waste stream, prior to further processing. Alan Valentine of Firstgrade commented: ‘Screening at a large hole size can be difficult using conventional screens as bigger items easily block or peg in large holes, while long thin items can pass through. This is why we have developed the new disc screen.’ Featuring six rotating shafts, oversize material rides over the top of the flower-shaped discs, while undersize items pass between the discs on to a conveyor located below. The disc screen has been designed to offer high-volume throughput and a small footprint for easy mobility. Also on show will be the company’s T254 static trommel screen, which features a 2.5m diameter x 7.2m long barrel. Mr Valentine said: ‘The T254 is built for the heaviest duties, with 80mm bearings, 500mm diameter wheels and replaceable punched plate screens.’ Specializing in the design and manufacture of screening machinery for the waste-management sector, Firstgrade also supply picking stations, air- and water-separation systems, elevators and conveyors.
