YASKAWA Electric Develop "Σ-Stick" Linear Electric Motor

YASKAWA Electric Motor has announced that their "Σ-Stick" linear electric motor will be available on market in March this year. For its design that similar to ball screws, the motor can be mounted easily on various equipments. This "Σ-Stick" linear electric motor is more favourable than traditional servo motor and ball screw based linear motion devices in speed, precision and moving length. It's an ideal alternative particular for those equipments like machine tools, packaging machine for electronic components and others. "Σ-Stick" motor featured in its easy mounting which is almost the same as that of ball screws. However, the maximum speed can reach 4m/s, more faster than ball screws. Being equiped with linear encoder, it's possible for the motor to position accurately during its back-and-forth movement. Meanwhile, it is maintenance free. The comming "Σ-Stick" electric motor have four different types varying in bolt diameter from 16mm to 32mm.
