Whilst there is nothing ground breaking about the new series of miniature plastic housed bearings from R A Rodriguez they perfectly complement the company's established Greenlign and Redlign ranges. These products are in considerable demand in the hygiene-sensitive food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries where non-corrodible housings and stainless steel bearings are essential. With the introduction of new Greenlign designs last year R A Rodriguez could already boast the widest the choice of plastics housed bearings. The new miniature additions give R A Rodriguez even greater scope to provide the right product for the job. The new range introduces two basic types, the 2N two-hole flanged bearing and the 4N, its four-hole counterpart. Each housing type is available in a range of sizes to accommodate a self-aligning stainless steel insert bearing with bore diameters from 3mm to 12mm. The housings are precision moulded from high-tensile plastics whose strength characteristics can be compared with those of die cast metal alloy. However, unlike cast iron housings, their smooth surface is easily cleaned and will not corrode, chip or scratch.
