Schaeffler Group Industrial with its two brands INA and FAG will exhibit product innovations, system solutions and comprehensive services for bearing supports in wheelsets, bogies, transmissions and traction motors, as well as further system components such as yoke-type track rollers for active tilt technology in trains at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin (Sept. 19th-22nd, 2006). “All these bearing solutions are outstanding for long life and low maintenance requirements,” emphasized Dr. Raimund Abele, Head of the Railway Product Line. “As a leading full-range supplier we can offer our customers all solutions from one source.” A special highlight at the Schaeffler Booth 116 in Hall 5.2 is the new insert bearing for low-floor trams, operated for instance by public transport company Hallesche Verkehrs-AG. These FAG insert bearing units are tapered roller bearing sets which are manufactured to such high precision standards that the required preload is achieved after installation into the wheel unit. Furthermore they are easier to mount and maintain, require less installation space and offer longer life. In addition to product innovations, services play an ever more important role. Manufacturers and operators demand longer maintenance intervals and corresponding maintenance services. Therefore Schaeffler Group Industrial also offers tools for proper mounting and dismounting as well as lubricants and trainings courses via its subsidiary FAG Industrial Services (F’IS). Moreover, the company’s Reconditioning Center in Schweinfurt offers the refurbishment of different types of rolling bearings for wheelsets.
