Schaeffler UK has launched a new, 1500-page rolling bearing catalogue, which not only includes more than 40,000 INA and FAG products, but also provides design engineers with a comprehensive bible of technical knowledge and bearings expertise. The new rolling bearings catalogue from Schaeffler (UK) is more than just a catalogue of the company’s vast range of 40,000 rolling bearing products. More than 140 pages are devoted to the technical principles of rolling bearings, helping design engineers sise and select the correct bearings for their intended application.
The 1500-page catalogue replaces seven individual product catalogues.
Bearing product sections include deep groove ball bearings; angular contact ball bearings; cylindrical roller bearings; spindle bearings; bearings for screw drives; track rollers; housed bearing units; tapered roller bearings; needle roller and cage assemblies; spherical roller bearings; drawn cup needle roller bearings; bearing housings and accessories.
The ‘technical principles’section of the catalogue includes information on fatigue theory; dynamic and static load carrying capacities of bearings; variable loads and speeds; life ratings; rigidity and deflection; friction values; limiting speeds and thermally safe operating speeds; lubrication principles; design of bearing arrangements; and information on fitting and dismantling.
This section of the catalogue will enable design engineers to decide which products they are able to use for an application; what they need to consider when designing the bearing arrangement; which tolerances are suitable for the adjacent construction; and how they can achieve the most effective sealing of their bearing arrangement.
It will also help designers calculate the rating life of the bearings; what temperatures and loads can be supported; which lubricants are most suitable for the bearing arrangement; how and when maintenance should be carried out; and how to install and fit the bearings.
The new joint branded catalogue is another important step in our one-face-to-the-customer strategy, and demonstrates further how the two brands of INA and FAG perfectly complement each other, commented Kate Hartigan, Managing Director at Schaeffler (UK).
The catalogue is user-friendly and is an essential reference work for design engineers, OEMs, distributors and end users.
