Taiwan Machinery Output Expect to Hit TWD200 Billion Taiwan Economic Daily source, at present, annual output value of machinery parts in Taiwan have reached TWD100 billion and it is expected to hit TWD200 billion in future, if the machinery industry continue developing healthily. However, it can't be neglected that the machinery industry in Taiwan still face many potential risks. Therefore, efforts should be made to increase technical content of products, establish and improve rating system of precision level for machinery products. Thus price of different products can be determined accordingly. And the competition will be standarized. Now, many of the machinery parts producers in Taiwan are of small and medium-size. They have yet to be improved in product quality and their ability to develop new products. So under the fierce competition dominated by price reduction, there exsit potential risks to this industry's healthy development in future. Also, increasing cost of raw materials bring negative impact to machinery industry in Taiwan. And scarcity of technical personnels has aggravated producers' competition for technologies and orders. Although, machinery enterprises in Taiwan are inferior to those from Europe, US and Japan in size, they have greater support from local parts suppliers and many OEM producers. Recently, enterprises in Taiwan began to enter global market by forming alliance. So far, there have been nearly 20 strategic unions in Taiwan, aiming to enhance international competitiveness of their members.
