The 10 Hottest Events in Chinese Lubricant Industry in 2006
1. During the first half, price of crude oil rise crazily, leading to the increasing cost of lubricant makers; at the same time, CNPC and SINOPEC, the two leading enterprises in Chinese oil industry, sticked to the policy of "No external sale". Thus, many private lubricant enterprises faced series crisises, some of them were forced to go bankruptcy.
2. Due to shortage of resources, big problems appeared in Tongyi Lubricant's operation, causing the acquisition by Shell.
3. New National Standard System for Petroleum and Diesel Oil come into existence. In the "Petroleum GB11121-2006", the previous SC and SD level have been removed from this new standard system, adding other 6 new levels including SC, SH, SL, GF-1, GF-2, GF-3.
The "Diesel Oil GB11122-2006" add 4 new levels, CF, CF-4, CH-4, CI-4. This new standard system mark the end of the previous confuse in Petroleum and Diesel Oil standard, encouraging the development of feul industry.
4. With the comming out of dubious examples in brake oil industry released by CCTV, National Authorities waged a nationwide battle against poor brake oil.
5. NISSAN JIEHE Lubricant developed quality lubricant for race cars in AGF(Asian Geely Formula), becoming the assigned lubricant supplier for formula race cars in China.
6. Trade companies dealing with material oil for lubricant experience ups and downs in the whole year. From Jan. to the end of August, all trade companies made substantial profit. However, from the Sept. on, no company who has inventories can avoid the doom of loss.
7. For the purpose of energy conservation and environmental protection, most auto makers require that all sample cars in 4S stores should use 5W/20 fuel like SM/GF-4 and SL/GF-3.
8. With the world-wide price-rise of non-ferrous metal and material oil, price for lubricant additive also increased greatly. As a result, price of lubricant began to rise. Shell, Mobil, Changcheng, Castrol and others raise their price for many times.
9. CNPC and SINOPEC failed to produce quality material oil for producers of upscale lubricant. Thus, Korean SK and other foreign material oil become quickly-sold in China.
10. SINOPEC Baling branch developed the Mucosity Improvement Additive for HSD lubricant.
