Dec. 29-Jan. 12 Roundup of Steel Markets In China (Dec. 29 - Jan. 12) This week see the nationwide price rise of bearing steel, deal volume keep in an average level. Distributors and endusers become acceptable to the price-rise leaded by domestic steel makers a week ago. Thus, price begin to increase by 100 yuan/ton this week. Now, average price has been over 4000 yuan/ton. Following the price-rise, the deal volume which was seriously restricted by less demand in previous period has been in modest revival, more distributors buy bearing steel from the makers. At present, the available bearing steel on the market is in rational level, but it is hard for Northern makers deliver products to South, because of the strain in transportation. It is estimated that there is little chance for an dramatic price-rise until the end of Spring Festival vacation, price would be in stable level in following days. Statistically, the average price of bearing steel has increased by 1.8% from last week, 3.2% higher than previsou month.
