Chinese Ambassador to Gothenburg Visit SKF Headquarters Mr. Cui huixin, Chinese ambassador general to Gothenburg, visited SKF, the world leading bearing producer on Jan. 9. Tom Johnston, president and CEO of SKF, received the Chinese guests. During the visit, Cui were told more details of SKF's businesses in China, watching SKF's video introduction and touring the workplaces. According to Cui, the major purposes of this visit can be summed up as following: to fulfil the ambassador's role to contact big enterprises; to know more about SKF's businesses in China, helping solve some China related problems. In the talks between both parties, Mr. Johnston said that SKF has began their businesses with China since 1912, just five years later they had their first presence in China. Now, SKF's annual sale in China has exceeded SKR3 billion, putting China their fourth largest market worldwide. So far, SKF has had 10 companies, 14 representative offices in China, employing over 2,500 Chinese people. Besides, number of assigned SKF distributors in China have reached more than 70. And one of SKF's 4 Training Colleges locate in Pinghu, China. Concerning the future, Mr. Johnston said they are planning to apply for being a sponsor of the Beijing 2008 Games. Thus, SKF could be known by more Chinese people. At last, Cui expressed his willingness to have SKF as guest of the Embassy and promising to do his utmost to help them solve problems.
