Hyundai Qualify Wanxiang Bearing Their Supplier
At the beginning of 2007, Wanxiang Bearing company again passed qualification examination of a Korean auto maker, becoming authorized supplier of Hyundai Motor. After passing lab test, Wangxiang's products have been equiped on vehicles for further trials.
This is another achievement Wanxiang made in Korea, since the five-years-long contract worth of USD34 million with Korean D company in last October and their partnership with DAEWOO MOTOR in last December.
Expert delegation comprising members from Hyundai's global purchase, quality control, structure designing and other departments went to Wanxiang Bearing company for supplier qualifying lasting three days from Jan. 15 to 17. In the examination, the Korean experts spoke highly of Wanxiang Bearing for their development in quality system, workplace environment etc.
Finally, they reached a consensus to recognize Wanxiang Bearing as their qualified supplier. This means that Wanxiang Bearing has become Hyundai's formal supplier and both sides are going to talk about detailed cooperation.
On the result announcing conference, Korean spokesman said that after this examination, they will expand and deepen their cooperation with Wanxiang, especially in enhancing productive technologies and product quality, striving for an win-win relationship.
According to the agreement signed by both sides, Wanxiang are expected to provide Hyundai with 22 varieties of gearbox bearings for different vehicles, including car, SUV, pickup, truck etc. Of all the varieties, 10 have been equiped on specific vehicles for trial. The rest 12 will be exclusively developed soon.
If everything is all right, the 10 types of bearings will be put into mass production in June. Besides, the No.8 bearing have been qualified by Hyundai and been put into production in January and the first group of this products are going to be delivered in middle February.
