GETRAG Form Transmissions Joint Venture with JMC Xinhua News source, the GETRAG (Jiangxi) Transmission System Co.,Ltd, a joint venture formed by GETRAG Corp and Jiangling Motor Co.,Ltd(JMC), set up in Nanchang recently. The GETRAG invested Euro34 million in the joint venture, holding 66.7 percent of the shares. JMC have the ownership of the rest shares. According to their agreement, JMC will bring over 2600 workers who are from three of its production bases to the joint venture. The new company are designed to produce 300,000 transmissions and 1.1 million relavant parts every year in the initial stage. And all products are produced for Chinese customers. GETRAG Corp. founded in 1935, is one of the world leading supplier of auto transmissions and other related parts in Germany. Their products include manual transmissions, automated manual transmissions, dual clutch transmissions, hybrid transmissions, front axle transmissions, rear axle transmissions etc. Jiangling Motors Co., Ltd. (JMC) was the former Jiangxi Automobile Manufactory that was established in 1968. In 2005, its production capacity was 73,000 in total. JMC Baodian Pick-up and JMC Yunba Cargo-bus are the national quality examine-free products. In 1995, they established strategic relationship with Ford. And by joint efforts, they developed the Quanshun automobile in Dec. 1997. Their transit commercial vehicle won the golden prize of Ford Global Customers’ Satisfaction successively in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
