Wartsila Diesel Open Bearing Facotry in China Wartsila Diesel Group, the world leading designers and manufacturers of medium and high-speed diesel engines in Finland, is planning to have their 12th plants in China, a bearing manufacturing factory. The factory is expected to be located in Wuxi where Wartsila already have had a plant there. According to Wartsila, the factory is built to meet growing demand of bearings and seals for marine products. This factory is designed to produce seals, bearings, sleeve for stern shaft. Meanwhile, the company said that the new factory not only expressed their wish to meet growing demands but also to seize more market shares in Asia. Construction of the factory is to be started since middle 2007. The Wartsila Diesel Group is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of medium and high-speed diesel engines. The company employees about 6,000 people and its net sales in the financial year 1995 is expected to approach FIM 6.5 billion. With thousands of diesel engines delivered to over 50 countries, Wartsila Diesel has a broad experience in both marine and land based installations. In the marine sector Wartsila Diesel engines have a solid record of successful operation as both main engines and auxiliaries. The range of applications varies from passenger ferries, offshore drilling rigs, ice-breakers and tankers to fishing vessels. They have production companies in Finland, Sweden, Norway, France and the Netherlands. The Group also manufactures engines in Spain and India, and has concluded licensing agreements for manufacture in South Korea, Brazil and Indonesia.
