Rotary Positioning Stage Gives Precise Positioning The latest direct-drive rotary positioning stage from Anorad, a Rockwell Automation company, combines precise positioning and velocity control with high speeds and no maintenance. The new stage is ideal for applications such as precision assembly, laser machining and high accuracy inspection machines. The Anorad RDR-160 features a compact design consisting of a brushless DC servomotor, a high-resolution optical encoder and a high accuracy angular contact bearing. The main advantages that the RDR stage has over traditional gear driven rotary tables are: higher accuracy/repeatability; no gearing; smoother motion; higher speed; and zero maintenance.Run-outs are within +/-3um (radial) and +/-2um (axial). Maximum velocity is 120 revs/min while load capacity is 50kg (axial) and 10kg (radial).Stage Weight is 7.5kg, the height of the unit is just 90mm with a carriage diameter of 158mm.
