Mar. 2-9 Roundup of Steel Markets In China (Mar.2-9) This week see a stability in bearing steel market. After the price-rise conducted by steel makers last week, the market entered a stable stage consuming the available resources. Deal volume and stock sources remain in an average level. China Special Steel Association hold the 2nd Session of Quality Steel Market Forecast Meeting on Mar. 3 in Sanya, Hainan province. Present at the meeting were officials from CSSA, 13 member enterprises and 2 other special steel makers. All present representatives and experts made a extensive discussion on the situation of quality steel market at present and in future, reaching a consensus as following: 1. Demand for quality steel is great; steel makers have received orders almost to their maximum. The market is running heathily, some steel products are short of supply; 2. Due to rising cost produced by raw materials, energy supply as well as mandatory environment-friendly facilities, the policy of raising price can't offset the increasing productive cost; 3. As a result, the quality steel market will see a stronger price-rise, the 40Cr steel in particular.
