Mar.9-16 Roundup of Steel Markets In China (Mar.9-16) In this week trade of bearing steel remain in the same level as last week, with average deal volume. After the previous price-rise to varing degree announced by steel makers, deal price has increased as a result. Most distributors played the waiting game with caution as their response to the rise. At present, the current price has been accepted by distributors, but deal volume still stay at an average level. On Friday, many steel makers raised their price again by 100 to 200 yuan/ton. And the market will act correspondingly in next week. According to analysts, increasing cost of raw materials are expected to drive the bearing steel price to a higher level. Statistically, the average price of bearing steel has decreased by 0.5% from last week, 0.5% higher than previsou month. Mar. 16 Latest Price of Bearing Steels Xinye Special Steel raised price of GCr15, GCr15SiMn by 200 yuan/ton; Xingcheng Special Steel raised price of bearing steel bar by 200 yuan/ton; wire steel by 100 yuan/ton; Yongtong Special Steel raised their price of GCr15 to 4200 yuan/ton; Huarun Special Steel raised price of bearing steel bar by 200 yuan/ton; wire steel by 100 yuan/ton; Shigang Special Steel raised price of GCr15 by 200 yuan/ton.
