EC Approves NTN's Acquisition of SNR The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the 100% Renault bearings subsidiary SNR by the Japanese firm NTN. Both supply both original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and independent aftermarkets. NTN is also active in the development of precision equipment and in the production of constant velocity joints. The EC considered the main overlap in the business areas of both companies is the production and supply of bearings for industrial, aeronautical and automotive applications. In other areas, such as specialty bearings, there is no overlap between the companies' activities.
