Bearings Top STLE Annual Meeting Agenda The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers 62nd Annual Meeting and Exhibition is coming up, May 6 through 10. STLE is, "the premier technical society representing 3500 individuals and 150 companies and organizations that comprise the tribology and lubrication engineering business sector." The event will be hosted by the Philadelphia Marriott in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Presenters will hail from around the world: NASA, NIST, bearing manufacturers, numerous colleges and universities, lubricant manufacturers, research labs, and government agencies. They will cover 60 sessions and more than 400 30-minute technical presentations. Numerous technical papers will be presented covering plain bearings, rolling element bearings, and dozens on specialties such as fluid film bearings. All will bring attendees the industry's most recent innovations and technologies. For example, practical subjects in rolling element bearings include the effect of grease rheology on starvation speed, and thin film lubricant replenishment. On the fluid film bearing side, subjects will vary from mechanistic or modelling studies to material, thermal and surface effects on lubrication. More than 80 exhibitors will be on hand, with displays and information about bearing lubrication, lubricant additives, and bearing testing procedures and lubricants .
