Shougang Record New-high in Bearing Steel Product

Shougang Record Monthly New-high in Bearing Steel Production Shougang Group Steel Mill No.3 recorded a new high in their production of bearing steel in March. The output reached 12,000 tons. This is the first time that bearing steel output exceeded 10,000 tons in Shougang Group. During the period, Shougang made other achievements in production of their “2H” products, namely, products with high technical content and high added value. Output of 2H products were 194,000 tons, 29,000 tons higher than the designed monthly target; 74.62 percent of total output were 2H products; output of competitive products were 172,700 tons, accounting for 89.02 percent of their total output. Shougang Group, located in Beijing, is one of the leading iron & steel makers in China. They started to produce iron products in 1919 and had their first side-blown converter in 1958, ending their no-steel period. In 1964, they built the first Oxygen top-blown converter with a capacity of 30 tons in China, which became the turning point of China's steel industry. They have three steel mills, two wire steel factories, sheet steel factory etc. Besides, the group has entered many other sectors such as mining, machinery, electrical products, construction, property, service industry etc.
