Symposium on China Tribology and Surface Engineering, sponsored by Timken (China) was held in Luoyang City from August 3-5, 2007. With the theme of "research on the basic theory of tribology", participants heatedly discussed six subjects concerning surface engineering, research on the basic theory of tribology, bio-tribology and bionics-tribology, tribology material and nano-tribology, lubricating theory and tribochemistry, tribology problems occurred in demanding operation environment and industrial tribology. Timken (China) had the honor of being the only official sponsors for this Symposium.
