Chery Automobile Co.Ltd. Awarded Schaeffler Group Two Honours On Jan. 17th, 2008, Chery Automobile Co.Ltd, one of the largest self-brand automobile company in China, awarded Schaeffler Group two honours -----the “Preffered Quality Supplier”(PQS) and “Core Supplier”. Chery Automobile Co.Ltd. highly praised the high quality engine parts manufactured by the Taicang Devision of Schaeffer (China). The honours, on the other hand, are firm approvals of the bearings for variable speed gearbox, the clutch output jars and other products supplied by Schaeffler Group. Located in Wuhu City, Anhui Province, Chery Automobile is the fourth largest automobile manufacturer in China. Its products are sold far away to Europian countries. The co-developed engines with AVL Company in Austria has fully proved its strong competitiveness in the international market. In 2007, Fiat Group and Chery Automobile signed an agreement of annual purchasing 100,000 engines, which will be used to assemble the automobiles off-line. Recently, Fiat Group and Chery Automobile cooperated to establish a joint venture company with an annual engine manufacturing capacity of 175,000 sets. The company is expected to put into production in 2009.
