Igus to Exibit at Pack Expo 2008

igus®, a leading developer of high-performance polymer bearings, linear guides and cable management systems, will be exhibiting at Pack Expo this year. The company's automation components are often used on processing and packaging machinery and are completely lubrication-free, while offering a longer service life at less cost.
New products for this year include DryLin® EasyTube-a new space-saving linear unit for format adjustment tasks-and new versions of the company's iglide® PRT self-lubricating slewing rings.
New EasyTube is suitable for format adjustments up to 33 pounds in vertical applications or 110 pounds when installed horizontally. The compact system has a tube which guides the end blocks and encloses a trapezoidal leadscrew, protecting it against external influences. The tube is available in anodized aluminum or alternatively stainless steel for superior corrosion-resistance. With this lightweight system, any applied moment is supported by the tube, and so a second guide shaft is not required. EasyTube is temperature-resistant up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit.
The PRT slewing rings use two self-lubricating, low-friction polymer sliding elements in place of ball bearings. The cost-effective modules are highly wear resistant, easy to install, completely maintenance free and have a very high load capacity. Among the new versions to be launched at this year's Pack Expo include a stainless steel version for maximum corrosion resistance.
Other products at the show will include the company's DryLin lubrication-free, low wear slide tables and linear guides, which can last in applications where ball bearing systems fail due to ingress of dirt. They will also include igus' self-lubricating plain and self-aligning bearings and cable management systems to guide and protect moving cables on automated machinery.
iglide® polymer bearings offer a predictable lifetime in any application, while Energy Chain® cable carriers and Chainflex® continuous-flex cables are designed to reduce downtime by eliminating cable failure. All igus products are tested extensively in the company's research laboratories.
