Hansen Transmissions First-half Profit Surges

Hansen Transmissions International NV reported first-half net profit of 21.48 million euros, compared to 5.17 million euros last year. The company's basic earnings per share rose to 0.032 euros. Revenues grew to 295.23 million euros from 170.8 million euros in the prior-year period. The company said that, moving ahead, for the second half, it expects the supply of bearings to continue to improve further as a result of new bearings capacity coming on stream, from existing and new bearings suppliers. For the full financial year 2009, Hansen reiterated its target for revenue growth of approximately 50%.
