NKE Wins Innovation Prize Schrittmacher 08

NKE AUSTRIA was awarded the innovation prize “Schrittmacher 08” for companies with more than 50 employees in the region Steyr. “We see this award as recognition of our company’s success”, said Heimo Ebner, NKE’s Managing Director. NKE impressed the jury by innovative special solutions for different industries. In the past 12 months, the company has developed 375 customer specific bearing solutions. In order to ease skills shortage in the long run, an apprentice workshop was established in cooperation with the vocational training institute BFI. The jury also explicitly praised the women’s involvement in management positions – four of the nine department heads are women. The “Schrittmacher” (Pacemaker) prize of the weekly newspaper “Oberösterreichische Rundschau” is awarded to the most innovative companies in the region. This year, there were totally more than 400 submissions.
