Most journal, thrust and guide bearing sizes and shapes can be customized and supplied to meet user application demands, providing a solution for oil or grease free lubrication in the most challenging applications. To ensure the best solution, customers are encouraged to submit their application details to the Applications Engineering Department at Metcar. Metcar’s team of experienced engineers will then analyze the application and recommend the best Metcar grade and bearing configuration for the application. Available Metcar grades include a broad range of carbon-graphite and electro-graphite materials that can be impregnated with metals, synthetic resins, or inorganic salts to provide enhanced lubricating qualities under the most severe conditions. All Metcar materials are manufactured and machined at Metallized Carbon Corp. to ISO 9001:2000 quality standards. Bearings manufactured from Metcar materials are self-lubricating, non-galling, dimensionally stable and have high compressive strength. Boasting excellent lubricating qualities in both dry running and submerged applications, these materials are completely homogenous and provide continuous lubrication throughout their service life.
