Jigang Group Co., Ltd.: Purchasing Domestic Equipments Saved 32 million RMB in Half a Year

“We need two large rotors on the Dedusting Fan of Converter each year, which was usually imported from Germany and the UK before at the price of 1.43 million RMB each. Now we replace it with the products from Shanghai Blower Works Co., Ltd., which can save 0.91million RMB on each large rotor.” Zhang Hou, the Chief of the Plan Section in Equipment Department of Jigang Group Co., Ltd. said. Since this year, Jigang Group Co., Ltd. has boosted the replacement and alteration of the imported equipments, spare parts and materials with the products manufactured in China, which saved about 32 million RMB in the first half of the year.
The explosion of the financial crisis compelled Jigang to think over their purchase pattern. They brought forward the aim to localize and replace 50% of the imported spare parts and materials.
The Deputy Head of the Equipment Department Gao Yanjun introduced that the localization and replacement of the imported spare parts is not simply changing the imported products into the domestically manufactured, but conducting according to the practical situation of the manufacturing processing based on the sufficient technical reasoning and the two principles of “the effect of the spare parts application is optimized” and “the operation expenses of equipment is minimized”. The Purchasing Department has worked out the replacement solution in order to guarantee the progressiveness, reliability and economic feature of the spare parts and materials through inquiry online, inviting public biding and choosing from the excellent. The flame tube and the transition section of the combustion machine used in the gas power plants was originally imported from American GE company, which cost 2.42 million RMB each year on the spare parts. After the localization and replacement, it saved 0.94 million RMB.
Replacing the imported products with the domestically manufactured products also changes the inherent concept of the purchasing departments and manufacturing units.
