Breakthrough Was Made in National “863” Project by LYC Company

Recently, the national “863” plan project taken on by LYC Company---the development of the main bearings for the earth pressure balance shield has made breakthrough on the most important while most difficult aspect of the heat treatment technology of bearings, which has paved the way for the development of this product. The work environment of the earth pressure balance shield is very execrable, which has high reliability request under the complicated condition such as the bearing is with high load or variable load, etc. In order to meet the requirement, the heat machining technology laboratory of the Technology Center made out several experimental processing solutions by consulting the technical data and visiting the research and development institutes and carried through several intermediate frequency quenching experiments of bearing raceway, tooth surface and dedendum with the cooperation of the extra large bearings plant. Finally, they successfully solved the problem that restricts the intermediate frequency quenching processing of main bearings, which offers a great guarantee to the development of the project.
