CNPC Lubricant Company Successfully Developed No.20 Aircraft Lubricant Base Oil

Recently, each parameter of the first batch of No. 20 aircraft lubricant base oil produced by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Lubricant Company has met the requirements of the military party, which indicates the success of the development of No. 20 aircraft lubricant base oil and is another witness of the CNPC Lubricant Company to actively implement the social responsibility and support the national defense construction by practical actions.
No. 20 aircraft lubricant base oil, taking the poly (α-olefin) synthetic lubricating oil as the base oil, is used for lubricating and cooling the rotor bearings of turbine jet engine and the gear and bearings of accessory transmission equipment; the requirement of every parameter is fairly strict. After the experts from China Aircraft Oil Authentication Commission and the leaders from the army visited and inspected the manufacturing plant, the leaders of the company highly stressed the importance and required the company sufficiently exert the advantage of development and research and spare no effort to overcome the difficulties. The technicians of Lanchow Lubricant Grease Plant of the Lubricant Company overcame various difficulties and started from the small experiments, filtered the manufacturing solution and fished out the processing conditions that not only met the product quality requirement but also are suitable fro the device production. During the long engineering experiments for more than one month, they successively solved the problem of neutralization and filtration difficulties, hydrogenation oil ingredient superposition and distillation flash point didn’t meet the standard, etc, eliminated various of factors that couldn’t cause disqualification, finally they broke through the traditional process and adopted the distillation kettle column, air stripping and nitrogen protection, etc, and successfully developed the first batch of No. 20 aircraft lubricant base oil, which was proved to meet the requirements of the army through the analysis of Lanchow Lubricant R&D center. At present, the first batch of No. 20 aircraft lubricant base oil was smoothly delivered.
