Automobile Transmission Shaft Manufacturers First Landed in Wuhan-“China Automobile Capital”

The automobile transmission shaft manufactured in Wuhan will be used in the middle and high end car manufactured in Hubei such as Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen C5 car, Dongfeng Honda CR-V car and Dongfeng Nissan Teana car, etc. Recently, Wuhan Plant of Shanghai Native Auto-mobile Transmission Shaft Co., Ltd has opened in Wuhai Development Zone, which is the first automobile transmission shaft manufacturer that landed in Wuhan-“China Automobile Capital”.
It is said that Shanghai Native Auto-mobile Transmission Shaft Co., Ltd has invested 230 million RMB in the Wuhan Plant and will build up a production capacity of 500,000 sets of constant speed universal joint transmission shafts in Wuhan Development zone on two phases, which are mainly supplied to the middle and high end cars. The project is said to be finished in next March and the sales will be up to 342 million RMB each year after the project is finished.
Shanghai Native Auto-mobile Transmission Shaft Co., Ltd is a joint venture of HUAYU Automotive Systems Co., Ltd-the subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) and GKN Transmission System International Co., Ltd-the subsidiary of GKN Group in Britain, which supplies constant speed transmission shafts, cross universal joint transmission shafts and precision forgings for several enterprises such as Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen, Dongfeng Honda, Shanghai General Motors and Shanghai Volksvagen, etc. In 2009, Shanghai Native produced more than 5 million sets of constant speed transmission shafts annually and held almost half of the share in the domestic market.
Shen Jianhua, the Present of Shanghai Automobile Industry Corporation (Group) said after Wuhan Plant is established, it will face the entire car manufacturing enterprises in the Middle China and achieve the synchronous research and development of transmission shafts and entire car manufacturing in the “China Automobile Capital”, change the situation that the quality of automobile parts requiring the local admission and ensure the normal operation of the automobile industrial chain from the up-stream. At present, Shanghai Native and Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Company have achieved the 100% directly supply. 50% transmission shafts of Dongfeng Honda are supplied by Shanghai Native.
