Recently, the development project of “Replacing the Forgings of Large Wind Power Generator Spindle with Alloy Nodular Cast Iron” carried out by Zhejiang Jiali Wind Power Technology Co., Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Jiali Technology Co., Ltd. was completed successfully. The company has developed a new material for casting---high strength and high toughness nodular cast and its casting method independent and finished the trial-manufacture of large size wind power spindle. Each index has met the designing requirement.
As the project replaced the forgings with high strength and high toughness ferritic alloy nodular cast to produce large size wind power spindle, it can save 50% raw material in producing the same spindle of 6 tons. The unit cost of the product can reduce 60%, which can save much cost for the plants. Making use the the existing technology, the company bravely innovated and put forward the technological solution of design of new material ingredient and casting technology, developed and grasped the packaged technology of the production of spindle castings---the key parts of large size wind power generators, which filled the gap in this field in China and achieved the localization of the key part of large size wind power generator.
