The SKF CAHB-10 electromechanical actuator enables precise, controlled and repeatable push-and-pull movements in linear drive applications.
In this case, the actuator has been customised to the requirements of the yacht's hybrid diesel-electric power-generation system.
The actuator has been engineered to withstand harsh environmental demands and has undergone a series of mechanical, environmental and electronic trials to reduce validation time and costs, as well as warranty issues.
In particular, the unit is proven to resist wide temperature swings, chemicals, dirt, dust, water, vibration and other demanding operating conditions.
The IP-66 rated actuator has been designed to be particularly robust, enabling increased uptime and reduced risk of failure.
The virtually maintenance-free construction reduces costs, while the hydraulic-free actuation eliminates the risk of fluid leaks, which can result in impaired function and the potential risk of fires.
Capable of operating at temperatures from -40 to 85C at a 25 per cent duty cycle, the CAHB-10 features durable metal gears and a corrosion-resistant housing.
