According to the news from Baosteel official website on September 28, Baosteel has accumulated valuable experience in laser repair and laser remanufacturing technology after many years of development and testing. At present, Baosteel has involved in the preparation of laser repair standards in metallurgical mill arch, flat caps and other components. In recent years, Baosteel and Shenyang Dalu Laser Technology Co., Ltd has formed the standard system and the internal implementation of the technical conditions about mill arch on-line laser repair. Next stage, they will further improve the specification and form the the guiding standard. It is understood that the largest cost of laser processing lies in the expensive one-time investment in equipment. Once the equipment has put into use, the operatating cost is lower without regarding to the cost of equipment investment. Moreover, the cost in laser processing is 25% below the original value as for the roller, shaft, blade and gear are all high value-added parts in the metallurgical equipment. Besides, the period of laser processing is short which could significantly save the maintenance time. Thus to ensure the timely production, meanwhile, the performance is just as the new parts.
