Igus has added a toothed outer ring option and a low-cost slewing ring to its slewing ring bearing range, which is suitable for the furniture industry or display advertising systems.
The toothed outer ring option is available in all the standard PRT slewing ring sizes, from 30 to 300mm diameter.
For each size, four tooth patterns are available: belt profiles AT10, T10 and HTD8M and spur gear to DIN3967.
The outer ring of the standard PRT slewing ring is replaced by this toothed ring, allowing easy fitting and maintenance-free operation.
The second development is a low-cost slewing ring that is made of four parts in 80mm diameter and is designed for applications where cost reduction is the primary factor.
The Igus polymer slewing ring is designed to tackle the problems previously only solved by conventional ball bearings, according to the company.
