(November 16, 2010) George Leone is a designer/builder of streamliner bicycles. Beginning in 1980, he has participated in the design and construction of more than 35 vehicles, many of them as a mentor to the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Human Powered Vehicle Team. With a deep knowledge of advanced composite fabrication techniques including the first all composite streamliner “Superstition” (1988), and three world speed records (1993-one still standing), George has formed “Team Primal” to design build and race ultra-fast streamliner bicycles. In only five runs at Battle Mountain, Nevada they have already broken the national speed limit with a run by pilot Ron Layman at 66.6 mph in “Primal 2”.
