Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (December 3th to December 10th, 2010)

The bearing steel price in this week was remain stable. Up to this weekend, the national average price of GCr15 continuous casting non-annealed steel of 50mm was 5,957 yuan/ton; the national average price of GCr15 die-casting annealed steel of 100mm was 7,5462 yuan/ton, which kept balance with that at last weekend. In East China, the mainstream strike price of GCr15 continuous casting non-annealed steel of the second tier plants was between 5,850 and 5,900 yuan/ton; the mainstream strike price of continuous casting annealed steel was between 6,400 and 6,450 yuan/ton. This week the market deal was well, and the merchants' shipment was relatively smooth to some extent and the atmosphere of wait-and-see of the downstream users was very strong. Though the deal was well, the merchants were cautious as for the uncertainty of the future trend, so they made the positive shipment as the main part, and lowered the inventory by the end of this year as soon as possible. However, the price of some raw material was still slightly increased, the production cost of bearing steel was also further expanded. The price of bearing steel will still keep stable in short time.
On the aspect of furnace material, the domestic iron powder market showed a slight trend of stretching, some regions ran weakly and slightly ran down, the inventory of the steel plants was still not optimistic, and the recent price of steel was still slightly move up, the domestic iron powder resources was still in the urgent demanding. The import of ore market in this week was continue to rise with the active market turnover. The domestic pig iron market in this week steadily ran, and the price in some regions rose slightly, the overall deal still kept balance. The scrap market in this week firstly rose then kept in the stable position, some of the steel enterprises still slightly increased the procurement price of scrap as for the shortage regional resource and the increasing procurement pressure. The core market in this week was quite stable, and the coring plants did not have much sales pressure, meanwhile the coring plants had low stocks with the active procurement by the steel plants. The chromium alloy market in this week showed the falling trend at first then slightly increased with the rising transactions, the price of imported chrome ore market was in the confusion this week.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market kept steady; the resource was not sufficient and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 5,850 yuan/ton; Xining Special Steel GCr15Φ30-75 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,800yuan/ton, out of stock; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,100yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,950 to 6,000 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,850 to 5,900 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,450 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market kept steady; the market resource was insufficient and the deal was common; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,400yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,450yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was from 5,850 yuan/ton with a few of stock and the Φ50-80 annealed steel was 6,400yuan/ton, out of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,800 to 5850 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,950 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price was stable; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shougang Group GCr15Φ12-25 annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 5,650yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,200yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,350yuan/ton, out of stock; Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,650yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market was basically steady and the deal was common with a few market resource. [North China Region]This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market was basically stable and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,000yuan/ton, GCr15Φ35-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,400yuan/ton, GCr15Φ100 die casting non-annealed steel was 6,600yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,500 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market was basically stable and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,650yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,000yuan/ton and GCr15Φ100 die casting annealed steel was 7,500yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region]This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was basically stable and the steel resource was not sufficient, especially for Changcheng steel and Xining steel. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ120-170 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,300 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was not sufficient, but the price was basically stable. Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,400 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,350 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
