NTN Corporation (hereafter NTN) has broadened its product line by commercializing the new “ULTAGE WA type” sealed spherical roller bearing as part of the “ULTAGE Series” of spherical roller bearings*.
Spherical roller bearings have a high load capacity and are used in a wide variety of systems including construction machinery, steel, mining, wind power, and paper manufacturing machinery. In addition to high load capacity, there has been a need for measures to prevent foreign matter infiltration particularly in the case where the bearings are used in a hostile environment, such as outdoors or where there is dust.
The newly developed “ULTAGE WA type” sealed spherical roller bearing provides a thin, specially-designed contact seal for the ULTAGE EA type open spherical roller bearing which has attained one of the world's highest load capacities, and thereby ensures a more compact bearing width dimension and stable sealing performance. Furthermore, long-life, heavy-load compatible grease is enclosed inside the bearing, thus eliminating the need for cleaning at bearing installation. This enables the long-life, high-reliability, improved maintainability, greater compactness and improved performance for environmental sustainability which are required of all types of industrial machinery.
NTN has previously provided sealed spherical roller bearings on a case-by-case basis to meet customer needs due to customer selection of a seal, but now NTN will be globally marketing a line of “ULTAGE spherical roller bearings (EA type, EM type and WA type)” which adds sealed spherical roller bearings to the standard lineup of the “ULTAGE Series” with high load capacity.
