Chinese EISCO launches some technique research activities for reforming rolling mill bearing localization. It only cost one seventh of the import bearings to make the performance reach the international standards. The reformation will decrease cost more than a million yuan.
The finishing mill of EISCO Wide Heavy Mill belongs to four-high reversing mill designed by SIEMENS Voestalpine. The heavy plate mills whose thickness is more than 4m all rely on importing bearing to meet the high demand of technical performance for heavy plate rolling mill bearing . After putting into production, EISCO wide heavy plate not only adopt overseas brand bearings but also trial Chinese rolling mill bearing. The bearings from USA which is rather expensive, while the Chinese bearings cost only one seventh of the former.
As the enhancing of wide-heavy plate production pace, the state bearing’s weakness such as easy to wear, easy to break for rolling element, having spot on inner and outer ring gradually appear which will affect production and increase the product cost with frequent replacement. Thus the EISCO heavy plate workshop technicians and other staffs decide to make great effort on spare parts localization to reduce their high cost pressure. They study and analyze the working characters and the technical performance difference between overseas bearing and state bearing. To optimize the technical parameters including bearing load and clearance in connecting with irrational factors of national bearings, they communicate with the state bearing manufacturers to produce bearings in accordance with mounting precision. They also adopt a series measures to improve state bearing’s Flour Volume for Steel and working life.
After almost one year’s test, the rolling mill runs steadily and all parameters meet the standard. The state bearings meet the operating demanding and the thick plate product line replace import ones successfully with cost decline of more than one million yuan.
