Bearing Steel Price in China will Keep Stable in June 2011

Summary: Look back to the bearing steel market in May, the price of GCr15 was undergoing minor fluctuations while the price in the majority of regions still kept stable. Up to the end of May, the national average price of GCr15 continuous casting non-annealed steel of 50mm was 6,418 yuan/ton; the national average price of GCr15 die-casting annealed steel of 100mm was 7,964 yuan/ton. The overall steel market has adjusted in May, though the deal for bearing steel was quite common. In the meanwhile, the market was influenced, thus merchants and downstream users were more cautious. Furthermore, the demanding & supplying of bearing steel in May still kept balance, it is estimated that the bearing steel market in June will still keep stable.
一、The domestic production situation of bearing steel
The domestic production capability of bearing steel crude steel was about 1.114 million tons from January to April in 2011, increased by 12.4% compared with the same period of last year; the output of bearing steel was 1.015 million tons, rose by 8.6%. (refer to: picture 1) In April, the output of bearing steel crude steel was 282,000 tons, meanwhile the output of bearing steel was 217,000 tons. (refer to: picture 1)

From Table 1 & Table 2, we can saw that the first three for bearing steel output from January to April in 2011 were still Zhongxin Special Steel (Xinye Steel and Xingcheng Speical Steel ), Dongbei Speical Steel and Nanjing Steel, with the same rank compared with the last period.
二、Bearing Steel Market Performance in May
The operation and features of bearing steel in May 2011 was mainly delivered in the following aspects:
(一) The export of bearing steel in April was increased
According to the statistics by ten domestic major bearing steel manufacturers, the total export for bearing steel in this April was 13,653 tons, increased by 1464 tons compared with that in March. And the largest export enterprise in this month was still Xingcheng Special Steel with the export volume of 13,526 tons.

(二) The price of bearing steel showed little change in May
The price of bearing steel basically kept stable in May with the slight increasing earlier, then kept stable. The specific condition of bearing steel in the domestic various regions in this month were as follows:
Hangzhou Market: the price in this region was stable in May with the common market deal. Up to the end of May, the average transaction price of small size GCr 15 (continuous casting non-annealed steel) was between 6,300 yuan/ton and 6,400 yuan/ton, and the GCr15 die-casting annealed steel was about 7,800 yuan/ton.
Luoyang Market: the price in this region was basically stable with the common market deal. Up to the end of May, the average transaction price of small size GCr 15 (continuous casting non-annealed steel) was between 6,250 yuan/ton and 6,350 yuan/ton, and the GCr15 die-casting annealed steel was about 7,800 yuan/ton.
Xi'an Market: the price in this region was basically stable with the common market deal. Up to the end of May, the average transaction price of small size GCr 15 (continuous casting non-annealed steel) was about 6,700 yuan/ton, and the GCr15 die-casting annealed steel was about 8,100 yuan/ton.

According to the statistics from Mysteeel.com: up to the end of May, the national average price of GCr15 continuous casting non-annealed steel of 50mm was 6,418 yuan/ton; the national average price of GCr15 die-casting annealed steel of 100mm was 7,964 yuan/ton.

三、The price of bearing steel keep stable in June
1.In the aspect of raw material, the trend for iron ore, pig iron, scrap steel and other raw material was weak with slight adjustment, while the price of chromium was still low in May.

2. As for steel plant and market, the price of bearing steel in most of steel plants kept stable in May, and the orders were quite well. The market price was undergoing minor fluctuations, meanwhile the deal for bearing steel was weak compared with that in last month. What's more, the social resources was insufficient, thus merchants were more cautious due to the weakness in steel market. It is expected that such condition will be continue in June.
3. For downstream users, the production for end-users was good, however, output for some users may be affected as for the power rationing. In the meanwhile, the end purchasing in this month seemed to be much more cautious.
In summary, the price of bearing steel in June will not increase or decrease to some extent. It is estimated that the price in this month will still keep stable with small fluctuations.
