SKF Drum Support Unit
The SKF Drum Support Unit is a new polymer unit for washing machines that assists in optimizing washing machine design, assembly and performance. This new solution is an alternative to aluminum or cast iron solutions, bringing cost and energy saving to washing machine manufacturers. It is delivered as a single unit and manufacturers need fewer assembly operations and no machining, to fit it into the washing machine.
The solution supporting the drum is over-moulded by the washing machines producers directly into their plastic tanks. And because the unit is delivered with integrated bearings, greased and sealed-for-life, it guarantees excellent alignment between the bearings, the water seal gasket and the drum. As a consequence the friction generated by the system is extremely low.
The unit is very compact, light and corrosion proof. It includes the hole to drain out the excess water, moisture and humidity that may arise inside the tank. And the external unit's shape and dimension can be customized to be adapted basically to any washing machines design.
Final users will enjoy lifetime energy savings during the washing cycles due to the excellent alignment of the bearings, seal, and drum system. As an option the unit can be equipped with SKF low friction seals and SKF Energy Efficient ball bearings, for even greater friction and energy savings.
