Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (July 16th to July 22th, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week was weak, with the market price in East China dropped to some extent, however, Hangzhou market significantly dropped, continuous casting non-annealed steel in Beiman steel dropped about 50 yuan/ton, and dropped about 70 yuan/ton in Echeng Steel. What's more, price in Shandong market obviously dropped, price for the second tier plants was dropped about 100 yuan/ton. Meanwhile price for other market basically kept stable in this week. The market deal in this week was still not ideal, while inventory relatively kept stable. Due to the volatile prices of thread in this week, the market has warmed. It is expected the price will recovery next week if the market trend continue to keep the rise momentum.
The rising power for the domestic iron essence pink markets weakened this week. The overall market of imported ore in this week slightly increased, meanwhile the low-grade resources enquiries was quite well and the market deal was common. The price for the domestic pig iron market in this week was continue to rise, while the deal was not very well known from manufacturers after the price hiking. The DRI market was stable, and the stock quotation in some regions basically kept balance compared with that in last week. The overall scrap market in this week was remain stable. The special billet market was weak in south regions and stable in north regions, the deal was not very well. The overall domestic coking coal market was smooth, the deal was slightly warmer. The import coal market was depressed, the deal was light except for Australia PCI coal and north Korea anthracite. The domestic coke market in this week kept stable with less coke inventory in some coking plants, meanwhile the sales condition was common, the price primarily kept stable. The market price for common chromium alloy market in this week still rose with the common market deal; whereas market for the import chromium alloy warmed with much more deal.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market slightly decreased and the market deal was not ideal. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 6,300 yuan/ton ; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,450yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market basically kept stable, meanwhile the deal was common; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,700 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was between 6,900yuan/ton and 6,950 yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 6,350 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was about 6,200 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market kept stable; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shougang Group GCr15Φ12-25 annealed steel was 6,750 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 6,350yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was between 6,300 yuan/ton and 6,350 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 6,300yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,900yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market was basically steady and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 6,250yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ30-50 heat treatment rolled steel was 6,300yuan/ton, out of stock; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,900yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton, continuous casting annealed steel was 6,700yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market was basically stable and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton, GCr15Φ35-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,600yuan/ton, GCr15Φ100 die casting non-annealed steel was 7,100yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 6,100 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market was basically stable and the deal was small. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was 6,900 yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton and GCr15Φ100 die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was basically stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 7,000 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ120-170 die casting annealed steel was 7,900 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,700 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was not sufficient, but the price was basically stable. Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,700yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
