Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (August 27th to September 2nd, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week was weak. Up to the Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel dropped to 6,271 yuan/ton, declined about 11 yuan/ton compared with the price in last week. The mainstream strike price of GCr15 continuous casting non-annealed steel of the second tier plants in southern regions was between 5,900 yuan/ton and 6,100 yuan/ton. Though bearing steel price has slightly improved this week, the market deal was not quite good. And the bearing steel price has reached a relative low position due to the impact of the domestic & international price for raw material. It is estimated that the market price for bearing steel in next week will enter a shock consolidation stage, meanwhile price fluctuations will not be great.
The domestic iron essence pink market continued to rise, and the deal was quite good. The imported ore market in this week was stable with more inquiries, meanwhile the deal was common. The price for the domestic pig iron market in this week was basically stable with the common market deal. The overall DRI market operated stably, meanwhile the market deal of stock was common with the stable quotation for the mainstream market. The overall scrap market in this week obviously rose, and the overall scrap stainless steel market slightly increased with the common deal. The domestic special steel market still kept stable, the overall domestic market for coking coal was stable with the price has slightly rose in some regions. The quotation for imported coke market in this week increased 20-30 yuan/ton, while the deal price maintained and did not changed, the complement inventory of lord coking and lean coal increased for coking enterprises. The overall domestic metallurgical coke market showed a steady upward trend, the blue carbon market kept stable, meanwhile the deal was common in some regions. The market for special alloy kept stable, the quotation for chromium alloy was also stable, the deal was common. The imported chrome ore price slightly adjusted, and the deal was quite light.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market basically kept stable and the market deal slightly improved. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 5,950 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was 5,850 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,400yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was between 5,800 yuan/ton and 5,850 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was between 6,050 yuan/ton and 6,100 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market basically dropped, meanwhile the deal was common; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,650 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was between 6,100 yuan/ton and 6,150 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market basically kept stable; the deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,850 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 6,300 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 6,250yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,900yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market was basically steady and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 6,050yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market slightly fluctuated and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton, out of stock, GCr15Φ35-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,600yuan/ton, GCr15Φ100 die casting non-annealed steel was 7,250yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 6,300 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market was basically stable and the deal was small. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 7,000yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was 6,900 yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,300yuan/ton and GCr15Φ100 die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 7,200 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ120-170 die casting annealed steel was 7,950 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,800yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,700 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,700 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
