Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (October 08th to October 14th, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week significantly dropped with the light market deal. The overall steel market price shockly declined after the holidays, bearing steel market is no exception. Up to Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,182 yuan/ton, the mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China was between 5,800 yuan/ton and 5,900 yuan/ton, prices have significantly fallen. This week, Echeng steel made certain down adjustment for its factory price, most of merchants held the active delivery attitude, however, the low price did not bring purchasing desire for downstream users, thus the market demand was still lack of power, and the price would not improved in short term. Currently, the market macroscopical environment is not ideal, we could not see powerful factors to support market prices. It is estimated that the bearing steel price in next week will continue to drop, in the meanwhile, it is proposed to reduce inventory to wait-and-see.
The overall domestic iron essence pink market was weak. The quotation for imported ore market in this week slightly dropped with fewer inquiries, meanwhile the deal was quite common. The domestic pig iron market in this week also dropped, not only the pig iron steelmaking, but also the pig iron casting declined to certain extent, and the overall market deal was light while inventory for iron plants gradually increased. The overall DRI market stably operated, meanwhile the price for stock deal kept balance with that in last week. The domestic square billet market still dropped in this week, but parts of regions increased their price during the holiday, and the accumulative adjusment range reached 100 yuan/ton, the overall price was much higher than the price before the holiday though the opening quotation slightly improved after the holiday. The overall scrap market in this week decreased under the condition of weakness. The anthractite market in this week basically kept stable. The price for steam coal kept stable and slightly increased. The coking coal in this week still rose, in the meanwhile, the deal was quite well. The imported coke market slightly improved, though the transaction price slightly fluctuated. The common alloy market was weak, the special alloy market declined. The quotation for chromium alloy was weak with light market deal, and the price for imported chromium ore obviously dropped.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market declined and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 5,850 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was between 5,800 yuan/ton and 5,850 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was between 5,800 yuan/ton and 5,850 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was between 5,850 yuan/ton and 5,900 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market dropped, meanwhile the deal was common; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,400 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,700yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,950 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,950 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market decreased; the deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,800 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 6,200yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 6,150yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,900yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market also declined and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 6,000yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,250yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,200yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market slightly fluctuated and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,200yuan/ton, out of stock, GCr15Φ35-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,600yuan/ton, GCr15Φ100 die casting non-annealed steel was 7,200yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 6,300 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market was basically stable and the deal was small. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,150yuan/ton and GCr15Φ100 die casting annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 7,200 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ120-170 die casting annealed steel was 7,950 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,700yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
