Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (October 29th to November 4th, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week was weak, with the market deal was bad. Now the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,096 yuan/ton, dropped 35 yuan/ton compared with the price in last week. The mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China dropped to 5,650 yuan/ton, and it still had the down trend. This week, many steel plants declined their delivery price, which has seriously affected the post market. It is learned that the current inventory was relatively high due to the insufficient market demand, thus it played an active role for price declining to certain extent. It is estimated that bearing steel market in next week will continue to slightly drop, while no sever fluctuation as before.
The overall domestic iron essence pink market still maintained the weak trend, while improved for some regions. The imported ore market slightly kept stable, meanwhile the profit for steel plant also improved, however, inventory for some enterprises was light. There was no good news for the domestic pig iron market in this week, most of regions still maintained the weak condition as last week. The DRI market operated under weakness, transaction price for the stock further dropped in some regions, at the same time, the purchasing for steel plant in mainstream areas obviously decreased. The domestic square billet market kept stable except Tangshan area, with the price in some regions slightly increased. The domestic scrap market in this week adjusted, for some regions to make few adjusment according to the local market conditions. The coking coal market in this week declined with light deal, in the meanwhile, purchasing price for coking coal in some steel plant obviously decreased. The imported coke market dropped to great extent, many enterprises will reduce their price to sell the port stock by the end of this year. The coke coal operated with weakness. The common alloy market continued to keep weak, the special alloy market slightly declined, while the deal gradually increased. The imported chromium ore market adjusted with weakness, meanwhile the deal was depress.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market slightly dropped and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 5,650 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was 5,600 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,650 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 5,650 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market kept stable, meanwhile the deal was common; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,250 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,500yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,900 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market kept stable; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,800 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 6,200yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 6,200 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 6,150yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,900yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market was stable and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 6,000yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,250yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,200yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market declined and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,150yuan/ton, out of stock, GCr15Φ35-50 die casting annealed steel was 7,600yuan/ton, GCr15Φ100 die casting non-annealed steel was 7,400yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,950 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market was basically stable and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,150yuan/ton and GCr15Φ100 die casting annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market basically kept stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 7,200 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ120-170 die casting annealed steel was 7,950 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,900 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,700yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
