James Walker Rotary Lip Seal for Marine Propulsion Units
James Walker’s Walkersele D8 rotary lip seal can be used to protect bearings in steel mills, processing plants and marine propulsion units.
The unit features a lip geometry that the company says enables flexibility with low lip loading and has been tested on applications that involve vibration and shock loads.
It operates at shaft speeds of up to 15m/s (2,953fpm) in standard nitrile rubber or cotton fabric materials, and up to 25m/s (4,922fpm) in fluoroelastomer or aramid-glass fabric materials. James Walker also offers the unit in a variety of other materials, and can custom design and manufacture cartridge seals.
The Walkersele D8 can be supplied in endless form and as Walkersele OSJ, which can be used for on-site joining on housings with retaining plates or as a self-retaining seal in endless form only.
