Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (November 19th to November 25th, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week significantly dropped. Up to Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,821 yuan/ton, the mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China was between 5,300 yuan/ton and 5,400 yuan/ton. This week, the bearing steel market was bad with weak delivery and light deal, while inventory pressure was difficult to release, thus the market price significantly declined. At present, there were still many uncertain factors for the domestic & international economic situation, the whole steel market did not make any improvements, especially for steel plants, as a result, the market attitude was shocked with insufficient confidence for the post-market. Under such conditions, market price for bearing steel could not obtain strong support, it is estimated that bearing steel market in next week will continue to drop.
The overall domestic iron essence pink market maintained the stable trend. The imported ore market weakly dropped after two weeks' extending. The overall freight market was weak, price for types of boat was at different levels. The trend for domestic pig iron market in this week did not keep stable, pir iron for steel-making was better than casting pig iron, southern regions was better than northern regions, meanwhile the whole market deal was well. The DRI market stably operated, stock deal kept stable, the quotation for mainstream market basically increased, while purchasing price in some steel plants slightly decreased. The domestic square billet market significantly dropped, price in some individual regions significantly fluctuated, at the same time, the market attitude was not stable, purchasing was also not positive and the deal was common. The domestic scrap market in this week continued to make adjustment. The overall coking coal market in this week continued to keep weak, price in some regions obviously declined. The imported coking coal market operated under weakness. The coke market kept stable with the common deal and stable price, while price in some regions slightly improved. The common alloy market continued to keep weak, the special alloy market weakly operated. The chromium alloy market also weakly operated, while the deal was quite common. The imported chromium ore market continued to drop with more inquiries.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market dropped and the market deal was bad. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 5,350 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was between 5,300 yuan/ton and 5,350 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,900 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,350 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was between 5,350 yuan/ton and 5,400 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market declined, meanwhile the deal was weak; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,500yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,550 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,550 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,700 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market slightly decreased; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,700 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 5,950yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 5,950 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,900yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market declined and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 5,650yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,900yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market declined and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 6,000yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,700 yuan/ton, Benxi Steel GCr15Φ150-180 die-casting annealed steel was 7,400 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market dropped and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market declined and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,550 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,700yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,950 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
