Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (December 3rd to December 9th, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week was stable. Up to Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,754 yuan/ton, kept balance with that in last week. The mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton. This week, bearing steel market was steady, which has entered into a weak adjust stage after declining for several weeks. As for bearing steel performance in this week, the market deal was better than last week, meanwhile inventory for merchants also reduced, thus financial pressure released. However, as approaching to the end of this year, production plan for plenty of downstream enterprises was slow down, there was almost no increasing will after the market adjustment. On the other hand, the domestic & international economic situation was not stable, the current rising power price directly effected manufacturing enterprises, so the market trend at present could not satisfy. It is estimated that bearing steel price in next week will keep stable or drop to small extent.
The domestic iron essence pink price in this week mixed with increasing and decreasing, the weak operation for steel market did not bring great influence, thus the overall trend still kept stable. The whole imported ore market rose, and the price obviously increased driven by the increasing tender at the beginning of this week. The overall freight market maintained the rising trend. The overall domestic pig iron market in this week kept stable with price in some regions maintained the same as last week, in the meanwhile, the market deal was common. The DRI market stably operated, deal for downstream market was common, price in some regions dropped. Price for the domestic square billet market was stable, while price in some regions declined to the original price. The overall domestic scrap market in this week was stable, price in some individual steel plants in Jiangsu Province slightly increased. The overall coking coal market in this week continued to operate under weakness with common deal, numbers of enterprises in Hebei Province began to add their inventory. Price for the imported coking coal market mainly kept stable except for Mongolia coking coal which has slightly rose, in the meanwhile, the inventory for port imported coking coal reduced, and the market deal was not ideal. The coke market kept stable with common deal, though the coke inventory for coking plants declined, yet price variation was not obvious. The common alloy market slightly rose, the special alloy market weakly operated. Price for the chromium alloy market kept stable, while the deal was quite common. The imported chromium ore market continued to drop with more inquiries.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market dropped and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,250 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 5,250 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market declined, meanwhile the deal was weak; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,500yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,550 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,500 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,550 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market slightly decreased; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 5,700yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 5,750 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,700yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market kept stable and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 5,650yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,900yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market slightly declined and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,950yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,650 yuan/ton, Benxi Steel GCr15Φ150-180 die-casting annealed steel was 7,400 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market maintained stable and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market declined and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,450 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
