Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (December 10th to December 16th, 2011)

The bearing steel price in this week was stable. Up to Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,754 yuan/ton, the mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,300 yuan/ton, slightly increased. This week, bearing steel market was steady with better market deal, inventory for merchants reduced to certain extent, thus the market attitude was positive, meanwhile price for some materials slightly rose, especially for southern regions where price fastly declined before. As approaching to the end of this year, holidays had certain effect on dowstream enterprises' purchasing, though bearing steel market improved in short term, yet conditions for price rebounding was still not enough. It is estimated that trend for bearing steel price in next week will keep stable, and there has less space for price shocks.
The domestic iron essence pink price in this week mainly kept stable, price in some regions narrowly adjusted due to the regional differences. The whole imported ore market was weak, purchasing willing for steel plants reduced as for the lower price of mining tenders, meanwhile the overall deal was light with less inquiries. The overall freight market maintained stable. The overall domestic pig iron market in this week kept stable with price in most of regions maintained the same as last week, in the meanwhile, the market deal was weak with common inventory condition. The DRI market stably operated, industry development for parts of species slightly changed, the market mainstream quotation still kept the same. The domestic square billet market operated with weakness, price slowly declined, and the market demand was light with bad market deal. The domestic scrap market in this week adjusted, price in most of regions kept stable. The coking coal market in this week continued to operate under weakness with common deal, independent coal enterprises seriously closed down, especially for Henan and Shanxi Provinces. The imported coking coal market was depressed. The coke market still kept stable with common deal, price slighlty rose. The common alloy market mainly maintained stable, the special alloy market weakly operated. Price for the chromium alloy market slightly increased. Quotations for the imported chromium ore raised, meanwhile the stock transactions also increased.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market adjusted and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,250 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 5,300 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market declined, meanwhile the deal was weak; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,500yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,500 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,550 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market was stable; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 5,700yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 5,750 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,700yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market kept stable and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 5,650yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,900yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market kept stable and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,950yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,650 yuan/ton, Benxi Steel GCr15Φ150-180 die-casting annealed steel was 7,400 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market maintained stable and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,450 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
